🎶 UPRS Metadata Update is Now Live! 🎶

The Uganda Performing Rights Society (UPRS) has officially launched its Metadata Update Process, beginning with members who have paid the UGX 50,000 membership fee. This initiative is designed to enhance the accuracy and standardization of metadata for musical works, aligning with international compliance standards.

By updating metadata, UPRS aims to improve royalty tracking and payment systems, ensuring members receive fair compensation for their creative work. This process brings multiple benefits to paid-up members, including registration with global databases like IPI, WID, and CISAC, assignment of ISWC codes, and allocation of IPI base and name numbers. These measures guarantee transparent and traceable royalty distributions, and also ensure inclusion in the official Verified Members List.

Our Documentation Team will be reaching out to confirm your payment and assist you through the metadata collection process. They’ll work with you to verify that all submitted information is accurate and up to standard.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Pay the UGX 50,000 membership fee if you haven’t already.

  2. Declare your works, including titles, contributors, and ownership splits.

  3. Stay alert—we’ll be in touch through phone calls, emails, SMS, and social media.
