Uganda Performing Right Society Ltd (UPRS) is a collective Management Organization (CMO) legally established to administer copyright in music on behalf of their members. UPRS reminds all entities that use music in their businesses to acquire copyright licenses for usage of their members’ musical works. Usage of copyright works without a valid license is an offence under Section 46 and 48 of the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act of 2006. All entities with outstanding license fees balance are advised to clear them before 25th August 2023. Non-compliant music users shall be subject to copyright enforcement.
